Dracula's Castle

In fact the castle we went to see today in Bran know as Dracula's Tower is not and never was Dracula's tower but apparently Vlad Tepes was locked in a dungeon there for a couple of days - so that seems to be good enough for them!

We started off the day by tucking into some free toast at the hostel and then went to get a bus to Bran. We were under the impression the bus went straight to Bran but in fact we were supposed to get off at the last stop to get another bus, which we only discovered once passing the last stop and returning back to our place we got on at! We sorted it out anyway and managed to get to our destination which was also set in picturesque surroundings and had a really nice feel to it.

So it was off up the tower to have a look around, take some photos and come back down again - we didn't really bother reading all the spiel on the walls so didn't spend too long in there before heading back down a steep muddy little track, which I thought looked challenging -- though Matt didn't have the most suitable footwear on to tackle it but he did make it without an accident!

Our train is at 9.30pm tonight going to Budapest so we went for a big meal to fill us up and mine did end up being pretty big as I ordered some trout to start as well as a main course, so I thought anyway. As it turned out I had ordered 2 main courses as the price for the trout was per 100g, which I hadn't twigged so I had to pay for 350g as well as everything else haha!

We now have a total of about 2 leu left (approx 40p) so hopefully we will be ok to get to the train station by bus later on.
