Taupo

We had a cruisy drive from Waitomo to Taupo in the morning and stopped off the the rabbit shearers first. This was the only place in NZ that did rabbit shearing for there fur, but we got there too early to see any shearing happen as the shearer hadnt arrived yet. The rabbits they sheared were german angoras which had been bred so there hair grows really long - they looked like big white fluff balls it was funny!

We then had a short walk to the Marokopa waterfalls which is apparently one of the best walks in NZ and was really nice. We then got back on the bus and made our way to Haku falls situated on the Waikato river just north of Lake Taupo where we had another walk to where the Taupo bungy was as a few people off the bus wanted to do a bungy there. After they had screamed there heads off and bounced up and down we went to our hostel which is called Urban Retreat and right in the middle of Taupo. Me, Justin, Chris, and Stu all got a room together again as they did 4 bed dorms. Everyone else off the bus was doing a skydive later on in the day but we decided we would do it another day as we were here for 4 days. In the evening we went to check out the local bars and ended up at a place called the Holy Cow which was pretty dead but ok.

On day 2 we were going to do the skydive but the weather was really rubbish and there were big grey clouds everywhere so decided to give it a miss. We all ended up going to the cinema to see Mr and Mrs Smith which was really good, nothing groundbreaking but enjoyable. Chris decided he was going to leave Taupo early as he wanted to catch the Lions game on the 15th in Wellington. So he sorted out tickets and him and stu changed there bus to leave the following day but me and Justin stayed as we wanted to do our skydive the following day. We made bangers and mash for dinner and then stayed at the hostel for the evening as they put on Team America for us to watch and then After Sunset so we ended up watching 3 films that day haha!
