Meet Your Neighbour

Last night was amazing, I actually got to meet Dr. Karl, Lillian, and Joe Mangel (Old Character who has just returned - used to be a presenter on the Big Breakfast). There were a few people from the hostel going, some of which were on the same tour I had done to Ramsay street in the day. We had a bus that collected us and took us to the venue, inside were tables set out for groups of people to sit at as it made it easier for the Neighbours stars to come around and meet everyone plus each table was a team for the quiz.

Our team name was "The Madge Bishop Memorial Fund" and there were 6 of us in the team. The quiz was made up of 60 questions most of which were general knowledge with a few neighbours ones thrown in. The winning team won $200 but unfortunately that wasn't us and we didnt even make the top 10 haha. Knowing the names of the cast members for Home and Away did come in useful though.

Aside from the quiz there were other games that had prizes to be won. One of the guys that I was on the trip with in the day entered the Dance off competition which was pretty amusing. I told him to do the David Brent dance which he did to start with and that got a few shouts but he couldnt remember the rest otherwise he would have won! He came second to some itallion stallion that just got girls up tp dance with him haha.

The neighbours stars then came out and were introduced by the host and questions were asked to them. They then began to come to each table in turn for photos and a chat. I got some really good photos with them all so I will be posting them up here as soon as I find somewhere that allows me too.

After they had finished seeing everyone Dr Karls band played a set. For anyone whos interested they are touring the UK later this month!! The band consisted of Dr Karl (Alan Fletcher) and two other guys whos names I cant remember but they do the music for Neighbours. They were really good and just played covers instead of there original tracks as they wanted to make the night fun. After the band had finished we got a Cab back to the hostel.

I had a nice sleep in this morning until about 12 and then went for a walk around Melbourne. I ended up at the Australian Centre for the moving image which is free to get into and had loads of students videos which you can watch that were really good so spent a while in there. I then went for a wander into the park and watched some of the local skateboarders doing some tricks.

Its free pasta night tonight so gonna have that and then decided what im doing this evening.
