Ramsay Street

Today I went on the tour I booked yesterday. It was only $12 and included a BBQ, compared to the official tour which cost a whopping $35!!! The bus set off at 10am and was a mioxture of people from this hostel and the other hostel in melbourne owned by the same company. There were about 10 people in total and all were really kool. Our first stop was at the Studios but you couldnt go inside so just had to look at it from a distance, though toadies and lynns cars were both there! Our guide knew this by the way. You could see the top of some of the buildings but the fence was really high so It wasnt much.

We then went to Erinsborough High, really called blackburn and something or other and is actually a school full of immigrant kids haha. Got a few photos anyway and then drove to the famous Ramsay Street (really called Pin Oak Close or something). People actually live in these houses and are just used for filiming from the outside, the rest of the filming is done in the studio for all the inside scenes. It was really wierd standing in the middle of ramsay street you just expected to see harold come out to collect his paper haha. Our guide had a ramsay street sign so I got a photo of me holding it and also a shot with a cricket bat! The people who own the houses apparently get paid $40,000 for them to be used and put up with the tourists.

After I had finished getting millions of photos we got back in the bus and headed to this place which I cant remember the name of but it was in a woodland area which Is where we stopped for food. There was a BBQ cooker there so our uide slapped on the steak and let it cook while we went fpr a short bush walk. Had our food which was delicious and then went to feed the wild parrots which was fun, at one point I had about five on me and felt like the bird woman from home alone 2.

We then went to this place for a scenic view which was really nice before heading back to the hostel. Im going to the neighbours night tonight where I get to meet Dr Carl Kennedy, Lynn Scully and Paul Robinson so should be a good night. I can get photos with them too :)
